Rejoice in the Lord

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7)

This passage is among one of the most popular in all of the New Testament. It is a call to shed our anxiety and worry and to rejoice in the Lord, always. But how? The Apostle Paul answers with, ‘Let your gentleness be known to everyone.’ We have assurance that the Lord is near and engaged.

Life can seem like a never-ending struggle. But you are not alone. Share your struggles and anxious thoughts with God. Ask God what is actually needed of you. Ask, listen, converse with God. Before you know it, your relationship will blossom. The peace that comes with this way of life is beyond our control or understanding. It is a miracle of God. And you are invited into it.

So, spend today meditating on this bit of scripture. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

See you Sunday!
