Group Study
Bible Study, Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Presbyterians and Reformed churches have confessions which guide them in their faith. A confession of faith is a public declaration before God and the world of what a church believes and are "guided and instructed" by scripture. The heart of all confessions is the earliest confession of the New Testament church, "Jesus is Lord." Come on join us as we explore how the church has declared its faith from its beginning.
Fellowship Committee
Working in conjunction with other groups in the church, the Fellowship Committee plans opportunities for fellowship and supports social gatherings for the congregation, so that people can get to know each other better and feel more connected. It organizes and coordinates fellowship activities for all ages including dinners, outings, and opportunities for church fellowship. The committee is dedicated to growing the sense of community within the congregation, as well as the congregation's relationship with the community.
Men's Ministry
The younger men in our church, aged 55 and under (give or take a few years), have recently formed a “Guy’s Group” for faith, fellowship, food, and fun. To get involved with this great group, contact the church office for contact information.
Older Adults
Cordova Presbyterian is home to a vibrant senior community with retirees ranging in age from their mid-50’s to nearly 100 years young. Our older adults are vital participants in every aspect of our church’s ministry. As a group our seniors regularly gather for fellowship and fun. For instance, at 11am the second Tuesday of every month they gather for BINGO followed by lunch. Throughout the year many other events are planned including area day-trips and outings.
Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent organization within the PC(USA) of more than 300,000 women. The programming and options for the organization offer a variety of ways for women to live out their faith in an inclusive, caring community. For more than 200 years, PW groups have strengthened the Presbyterian Church and played a major role in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and witnessing to the promise of God’s kingdom. Our PW group is actively involved in Bible study, prayer, fellowship and service. Call the church office for more information on how you can get involved.
Sunday After-Church Fellowship
Each Sunday immediately after worship everyone is invited to join together in the Fellowship Hall for refreshments and conversation. It is a great time to meet and get to know visitors and new members, as well as a time to catch up on the activities of friends during the past week.
Two or more volunteers provide our refreshments each week. Interested in hosting an upcoming Fellowship gathering? The Sign-Up Sheet is on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall or you may contact the church office.
Wednesday Night Dinners
Hosted by an amazing group of volunteers known as “Charlie’s Angels” (in honor of the late Charlie Robinson who originally organized this energetic cooking team), Wednesday night dinners are a beloved Cordova Presbyterian tradition.
Our homemade dinners are only $6 per person and taste as good- or better- than what you remember about your grandmother’s cooking from childhood. Truly, these meals are delicious!
Most Wednesday nights during the school year provide a chance for us to relax together, eat a home cooked meal and have a time of fun and fellowship. All-ages gather at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall.
Dinner is often followed by a Bible study, program or multi-generational activities. Contact the church office to make your reservations by 10 a.m. the Monday before that week’s dinner.
