Prayer
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. (Romans 8:26)
Prayer. Does it work? Well, it depends on what you mean by that. Does God grant wishes like a Genie or Santa Clause? That’s not been my experience. We often fall into the habit of praying for things. Which is fine, but we should not allow that to be our only conversation with God. Prayer is, after all, a conversation. Relationship is built and nourished through conversation.
In our best times we often forget to pray and share our joy with God. But in our darkest moments we tend to seek our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. That’s just human nature. So, don’t feel guilty or ashamed to cry out to God. It is through our darkest moments that the Light shines brightest. If you don’t know what to say, that’s ok. Just sit in the Presence and allow God’s Spirit to intercede for you. God loves you more than you know.
See you Sunday!
