Masterpiece

We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10

There are times when we think too much of ourselves. That’s of course when we aren’t thinking too little of ourselves. It’s often difficult to know who we are and why we were put on this planet. What is your life all about anyway?

Paul says the most amazing thing in his letter to Ephesus. We are each a unique creation. We are each created anew in Christ Jesus. We are each God’s masterpiece. With that identity firmly in place, we are free to do the good things God planned for us to do since before time began!

This short little scripture answers two of life’s most illusive questions. Who am I? Why am I here? If you ever think that you might be the greatest thing since sliced bread, remember that your greatness comes from Christ alone. If you feel as though you have no worth, remember that God views you as his masterpiece.

There will never be another ‘you’ in this world. As part of the Body of Christ you have a very important job. That job is to fearlessly be ‘you’. Collectively as the Church, and individually as ourselves, we are God’s Masterpiece. Created anew in Christ Jesus, we are empowered to do the good things God planned for us since before we were born. May you have a renewed sense of worth and purpose this day and for all your days to come.

See you Sunday!
