To-Do

So how is that To-Do list looking? Summer is wrapping up and the fall is quickly approaching. A change in the seasons usually means an uptick in errands. I made a list today that took up a couple of pages! That’s the kind of list that can defeat a person’s spirit, no doubt! Some folks are built for stress and thrive on challenges. Others of us would rather scrape a few things off our plates than deal with the anxiety. We are all wired differently, to be sure!

As we head into the fall and prepare for back-to-school and a hundred other responsibilities, let us remember to take time for ourselves. Don’t forget to find a time and a place to be alone in prayer. Be sure to carve out a moment of peace in the chaos of the day. Very few of us look at our to-do list and see ‘spend time with God’. But we already know it should be there, at the top of the list, in all caps and underlined.

So, as we run around like chickens without our heads, let us remember who we really are. Human beings created to worship the creator. We are not human doings created to scratch accomplishments off a list. Let us remember to be busy in the work God has given us this day. No more. No less.

See you Sunday!
