This is the Lentiest Lent I’ve ever Lented

“This is the Lentiest Lent I’ve ever Lented.” – Facebook User

The season of Lent is meant to remind us that we are completely reliant on God. Just as the Israelites spent 40 years in the wilderness learning to trust God and Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness being tempted to rely on himself alone, so we have entered into the 40 days of Lent. Honestly, I had not intended to be challenged to rely on God this much! Had you?

These days of social distancing and isolation have put us to the test. Not many of us are fans of change. Especially when the “change” is not of our own choosing. We are tempted to rely on our own power and strength to navigate these strange waters. But this wilderness journey is too much for us to navigate alone.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6

This extremely Lenty season has provided us with an opportunity. We have little power to control these present circumstances. So, why not meditate on the will of God each day? Why not commit ourselves to following Christ through this season? Trusting that, in him, we are secure.

Remember we will be Celebrating Palm Sunday on facebook live at 10:30.
Followed by fellowship on Zoom at 11:00.

See you all Sunday!
