Calling
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
What is God calling you to do? What gifts of the Spirit have you been given? Maybe you know. You have it all figured out. Maybe you have no idea; you just hope someone tells how to help. You may feel uncomfortable or even unqualified to jump in and volunteer for an activity. You may be afraid to over commit yourself to “church work.” But let me assure you, God has given you a unique gift of the Spirit. No one else can do the work God created for you to do.
As a church, we are one entity, one Body with many parts. Each part serves a different function, but all work together to serve one purpose. We are to be the manifestation of Christ on earth. The church is especially equipped for this time in this place. But without you, we are incomplete.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)
Know that you are loved by God, equipped for a time such as this and created to be a specific part of the Body of Christ.
See you Sunday!
