Psalm 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
~Psalm 100:4
God has given us a great many gifts. Do you know why?
Imagine your life without God’s gifts; without God’s love. We live in a world that makes it easy to forget our blessings. The troubles of today distract us from the blessings. This distraction can easily become a habit. Our disappointments, anxieties and frustrations tend to float to the top of our awareness if we are not diligent.
So why does God bless us with gifts? Would you not do the same for your children? He has plans for us not only as individuals, but also as the people of God. Remember, God works to set the whole of creation free from the bondage of sin and death. We are given good gifts from God because of this purpose and by his love.
Because we are easily distracted, it is wise be actively thankful. Don’t just nod your head and agree with Psalm 100:4. Take the time each morning to make a list of everything for which you are thankful. Seriously. Do it. It will change your attitude. It will fill you with light and hope. In this activity you will be filled with the love of your Father in the heavenly courts. That’s a habit worth developing.
See you Sunday!
