Disctractions & Worries
‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.” (Luke 12:22-23)
Jesus advises his disciples to not give into the distractions and worries of the day. Of course, we have to think about what we will eat and wear, but such things should never worry us. Absolutely, we must be careful and diligent in this time of pandemic but we should not allow worry to overtake our lives.
Jesus goes on to tell us why we shouldn’t sacrifice our time to a constant state of worry.
For it is the nations of the world that strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, strive for his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. (Luke 12:30-31)
May the New Year be better than the last. Give your concerns to your Father in heaven and strive for God’s will to be done. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
See you Sunday!
