Waiting

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning, more than those who watch for the morning. -Psalm 130:5-6

Peace is difficult to capture.
We have wants and needs.
We have hopes and dreams.
But mostly we want Peace.

Imagine a dog waiting at home for his beloved human to return from work. Maybe he doesn’t eat or drink all day. He waits. Maybe he jumps at every noise in hopes it is his master at the door. If not, he waits.

He might have an opportunity to go out and seek another to fill his needs. But life as a stray dog can be a short and painful existence.
And so he waits.

The wait is difficult. But the master is trustworthy. The door opens. They are reunited and the celebration is something to behold!

As we wait and watch and hope in this life, may we trust that our God has not abandoned us. The door will open and celebration will be something to behold! The Peace of the Lord be with you always.

See you Sunday!
