Soar Like an Eagle

Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:27-31)

This scripture is one of my favorites. It’s a word of hope in a difficult world. It’s a message of truth. God’s strength is reliable and everlasting. We forget that truth sometimes. In the stresses of our lives, we forget that we were never meant to walk this life under our own power. As a result, we become tired in mind, body, and spirit.

God put us on this earth to soar like eagles. Under our own power we find ourselves hardly able to walk without growing faint. I invite you to take a moment to unpack your burdens. Examine the baggage you insist on carrying. Did your God truly intend for you to carry these burdens without him? Have you not know? Have you not heard? God understands your struggles and is more than strong enough to relieve your burdens. It’s time to soar.

See you Sunday!
