Strength to the Weary

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)

This scripture is a favorite for many. It brings hope to the helpless and strength to the weary. When we feel overwhelmed by life itself, we are reminded that God’s strength is enough to get us through. When our strength falters, God gives us the strength we need. God gives us MORE strength than we believe is possible.

Isaiah reminds us that we are not meant to carry life’s burdens by our own power. We are created to rest in the strength of the Lord. I challenge you to remember this fact each and every day. Call upon God to empower you, not only through the struggles, but through your daily life as well.  By doing so, you will mount up with wings like eagles. And may the LORD make his face to shine upon you now and forever.

See you Sunday!
